Alanna Farrell, Pharm.D.

​​Alanna Farrell, Pharm.D., is the Merck Medical Affairs Director for Health Systems in NY. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Howard University in Washington, D.C. and completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, NY. Dr. Farrell is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist with added qualifications in Infectious Disease.

Prior to joining Merck,  Dr. Farrell was a practicing pharmacist and manager at health systems in New York City; Continuum Health Partners and Mount Sinai Health System. Most recently she served as the Clinical Pharmacy Manager, Site Director for the Pharmacy Practice Residency Program and Co-Director of Antimicrobial Stewardship at Mount Sinai West, formerly St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital. There she collaborated on a variety of  interdisciplinary committees, as well as clinical, administrative and operational initiatives.

Her experience also includes formulary management, patient education, quality improvement and medication safety.  Her professional interests include infectious disease, antimicrobial stewardship, medication teaching/ education, patient safety and healthcare administration.
